UCISL / Elite FC Families,
In the coming weeks, we will periodically communicate with you, as we all deal with the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on both our sport and in our daily lives. Generally, UCISL / Elite FC is following the lead of U.S. Soccer, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other key stakeholders and experts.
With the safety of our athletes, their families, and UCISL / Elite FC staff in mind the board has voted to immediately suspend all scheduled activities until March 30th. This includes all Elite FC practices, games and other scheduled activities (UCISL coaches meeting etc.). Any activities that are sanctioned but not directly operated by UCISL / Elite FC (i.e. indoor soccer leagues) may continue with the recommendation that members follow the guidance of local and state public health officials.
The start of the UCISL recreational season will also then be delayed for now until March 30th. Although practices were scheduled to begin this Monday, March 16th, games were not scheduled to begin until April 4th. If we need to extend our delay, we will make every attempt to makeup games/practices up.
This decision to delay the start of activities was not made lightly in this unprecedented situation. While the start of the spring season may be delayed, the UCISL / Elite FC board remains optimistic that the season will still be played in its entirety. In the coming days, there will be additional emails coming from the organization, coaches and team managers with status updates and activities for the players to supplement their training with.
We will continue to support our members as we get through this uncertain time. Remember that the preventative measures that you take don't just protect yourself and your family. They also go a long way in protecting people around you who may be more susceptible to COVID-19 and the associated complications.
Thank you for your understanding,
UCISL / Elite FC
